The Hososhima North Breakwater Lighthouse sits near the end of a rock breakwater at the entrance to the harbour at Hososhima, Japan. The Gaiko South Breakwater Lighthouse sits at the end of a very long breakwater that is on the south side of the entrance to the south harbour at Osaka, Japan. The lighthouse is a 19 metre round concrete tower with gallery painted entirely red. Light is active. Photos taken in March 2017. The Osaka Main South Breakwater Lighthouse sits at the end of a breakwater at the south side of the entrance to the traditional harbour at Osaka. The lighthouse is an all red round concrete tower with gallery. Light is active. Photos taken in March 2017.
The Osaka Main North Breakwater Lighthouse is a 17 metre round white concrete tower and gallery. It sits on a short breakwater on the north side of the entrance to the traditional harbour of Osaka. Light is active. Photos taken in March 2017.
This tower, which is part of the harbour control radar system, also acts as an active light for navigation. The tower is 50 metres tall (164 feet) and has two galleries at the top with various equipment including the beacon. The tower is a bronze or gold colour with green metal framing around the galleries. It is located on a man made island between the north and south Osaka harbours. Photos were taken in March 2017

The Shimizu Miho Breakwater Lighthouse is located on a breakwater that extends from the tip of the Miho Penninsula and guards the southwest of the entrance to the Shimizu harbour. The light is a 17 metre high, white, cylindrical tower. Light is active. Date of construction is not known. Photos taken in March 2017.
The Shimizu Ko Outer Breakwater (South End) Lighthouse is located at the end of a long breakwater at the northeast entrance to the harbour at Shimizu, Japan. The light is active and the tower is a red 16 metre cylindrical tower. Date of construction is not known. Photos were taken in March 2017.
The Shimizu (Miho Saki) Lighthouse is located on the outside of the Miho Penninsula, east of the city of Shimizu, Japan. The light is a 19 metre high, white, concrete reinforced lighthouse and was the first concrete reinforced lighthouse constructed in Japan. The light was activated in 1912 and remains active. The Tokyo Lighthouse is located near the north entrance to Kitanomaru Park in the Kudanshita District of Tokyo, which is near the Imperial Palace. This lighthouse which was constructed in 1871 was one of the first lighthouses build at the start of the modernization of Japan. It has been inactive for many years and was relocated to this site in 1930. It is an impressive looking stone structure. Photos taken in March 2017.

This light is found at the end of a long breakwater that extends out from Moll Adossat where the cruise ship terminals are located for the larger cruise ships that dock in Barcelona. Light is 13 metres high. No date of construction was found however it was subject to adding a top piece in 2015. Photos taken in October 2016.
This light is located at the end of a jetty that extends out from Placa de la Rosa Dels Vents (near the Hotel W) in the port of Barcelona. It marks the entrance to the inner North Harbour in the Port of Barcelona. Light is 13 metres tall. I was unable to obtain many details, however earlier photos show it with a flat top and an article indicates that the new top was added in 2015. Photos taken in October 2016.
The Llobregat Lighthouse is located at the north side of the mouth of the River Llobregat. It is south of the port of Barcelona. The light dates from 1852. The base is a round two story keeper's house with a three part tower above. The lower part of the tower is square and then the middle section is octagonal with a gallery above. The tower is 102' from the ground. It is the oldest lighthouse in Catalonia. When the Montjuic Lighthouse was built, this light was ordered demolished, however protests saved it. It remains active. The Gibraltar North Mole (D Head) Lighthouse is an octagonal cast iron skeletal tower with a central cylinder painted black. The stands 56' tall and has a red flashing light. It is located at the end of the north breakwater in the port of Gibraltar. Photos taken in October 2016.
The Europa Point Lighthouse is located at the extreme southern tip of the Gibraltar peninsula at the Strait of Gibraltar leading from the Mediterranean Sea to the east to the Atlantic Ocean to the west. This light was built in 1841 and is a 62' tall masonry tower. The lighthouse is white with a large red horizontal stripe. The lighthouse is operated by Trinity House and managed by the Government of Gibraltar. Photos taken in October 2016.
This light is located on the East Quay in the Port of Malaga adjacent to the cruise terminal. Light is a small tower atop what appears to be an equipment room. Light stands 13 metres high. This light is in the bend of the quay and a long breakwater extends past it to the sea. Photos taken in October 2016.
